  • NAR PHU VALLEY REGION

Our Himlung expedition begins with a journey to the base camp of Mount Himlung following a classic trek through Nar and Phu Valley. The trekking route itself is not very popular but this region holds a rich history, scenery and diverse views. After a few days of the trek at the lower Annapurna region, we are welcomed into a completely different world at Nar Phu valley, barren land and untouched beauty. From here a day trek will bring us to the base camp of Mt. Himlung.

Himlung base camp is situated at 4900m/16,080ft. From the base camp to the summit, three higher camps are placed. Camp I is situated at an elevation of 5350m, Camp II at 6000m and Camp III at 6350m. A rotation of higher camps (Camp I, Camp II and Camp III) are scheduled for an acclimatization purpose before the actual summit push. As part of our acclimatization plan, we climb up to Camp III and descend all the way back to base camp. Once this is done, we begin our actual summit push.
